- When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one with double the value, and you score those points.
- After every move a new 2 or 4 appears in an empty spot.
- Reach the 2048 tile to win, then keep going for a bigger score.
- The game ends when the board is full and no tiles can merge. Use Undo to take back up to three moves.
2048 Strategy: Tips to Win
- Pick a corner and stay there. Keep your biggest tile in one corner, for example bottom-left, and almost never move it out.
- Build a snake. Line up tiles in decreasing order along the bottom row, then snake up the next row, so merges chain into the corner.
- Use only three directions. If your corner is bottom-left, use down, left and right, and press up only when you have no other choice.
- Do not chase small merges. Instead, think one move ahead about where the new tile will appear.
- Save your undos for the moment a random tile lands in your corner.
