How fast can you click? This free CPS test counts your clicks per second. Choose a mode from 1 to 60 seconds, click the box as fast as you can, and see your score, your rank and your personal best. It works with a mouse, a touch screen or the space bar, with no download and no sign-up.
How the CPS Test Works
The timer starts with your first click. Every click inside the box counts, and when the time runs out your score is the number of clicks divided by the seconds. For example, 45 clicks in the 5-second test is 9 CPS. Your best score for each mode is saved in your browser, so you can come back and try to beat it.

How to Click Faster
- Rest your wrist and click with the tip of your finger. Small movements are faster than big ones.
- Jitter clicking: tense your forearm slightly so your finger vibrates on the button. It is fast but tiring, so keep sessions short.
- Butterfly clicking: alternate two fingers (index and middle) on the same button. Many players reach 12+ CPS this way.
- Use a light mouse with a crisp switch. A heavy click needs more force per press.
- Warm up with a few 5-second rounds before trying the 1-second record.
Why Click Speed Matters
Click speed matters in games like Minecraft PvP, where faster clicking can mean more hits, and in clicker or idle games. It is also a fun challenge to share with friends. If you enjoy clicking, our idle game Root Access is built around it.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a good CPS score?
Most people click between 6 and 7 times per second. Anything above 8 CPS is fast, and above 10 CPS is excellent. Players who use special techniques like jitter clicking or butterfly clicking can reach 12 to 15 CPS or more.
What is the world record for clicks per second?
Records depend on the technique and the test length. With butterfly or drag clicking, some players report more than 20 CPS in short tests, while regular clicking usually tops out around 10 to 14 CPS.
Does the space bar count in this CPS test?
Yes. You can click with the mouse, tap the screen or press the space bar. Holding the key down does not count; each press must be a new one.
Why is my CPS lower on a phone?
Touch screens add a small delay and fingers move less precisely than a mouse button. Use two fingers and alternate them to tap faster on mobile.
Is it bad for my mouse to do CPS tests?
Normal clicking is fine. Very aggressive techniques like drag clicking can wear out the switch faster, so do not overdo it on an expensive mouse.
